GOOD MONEY LOOKING FOR GOOD PEOPLE!
The Bill Long Foundation is a membership-powered community foundation that gives grants to support projects and activities in Oberlin that address basic human needs or enrich cultural life. Membership in the foundation is open to all. Members elect volunteer trustees who manage all operations and award grants based on the vote of members attending the annual meeting.
The 2025 Bill Long Foundation annual meeting is THIS EVENING, WEDNESDAY APRIL 2nd. The social half-hour starts at 6:30 and the business meeting starts at 7:00. All current dues-paying members ($10 per person / $5 for students) are welcome to attend and allocate grant money to 20 wonderful Oberlin area nonprofits working to improve the quality of life for Oberlin residents. If you are waiting to pay your membership dues, we're set up to take cash, checks, and credit cards at the door.
The meeting will be held at Kendal at Oberlin's Heiser Auditorium, in the main building at Kendal. Parking at Kendal is limited. Use the large visitors parking lot - just off the first drive on the right after the intersection of North Pleasant St. and Maple St. as you come onto the campus. Enter the main building by the door facing the parking lot and go to the right in the hallway, Continue past the dining room, the lobby, and the library to Heiser Auditorium.
The annual Bill Long Foundation membership meeting is always a joyful event, bringing together our generous and caring community of members and the organizations seeking foundation support. Our grant process depends on the participation of our membership in voting on the allocation of funding. Your presentation is critical to informing them about your work and your needs. We have also found that a passionate and convincing presentation sometimes produces additional donations from the audience - an added and appreciated dividend.
